Crystal Tushinsky is a native New Yorker and hairstylist specializing in low-maintenance blondes, rich brunettes, precision haircuts, healthy hair, and effortless styling curated for real life.

Trusted by NYC women for nearly two decades, Crystal has built a reputation for attention to detail and creating hair that feels natural, elevated, and easy to maintain long after leaving the salon. Her approach blends technical precision with an intuitive understanding of movement, texture, face shape, and personal style; creating hair that feels personalized to each client. Her signature style focuses on healthy, dimensional hair with softness, movement, and realistic maintenance. A large part of the experience at The Blonde in NYC is education. Crystal takes the time to help clients better understand their hair, maintenance routine, styling habits, product recommendations, and overall hair health so they leave not only loving their hair, but feeling confident maintaining it between appointments.

Crystal graduated from Paul Mitchell NYC in 2007 and trained with some of New York City’s top hairstylists throughout her career. Prior to becoming an independent stylist, she managed salons, co-owned Haute Air, and worked at Red Market Salon from 2011–2018.

Today, Crystal works independently in SoHo NYC while also taking appointments seasonally in Miami, California, and The Hamptons.

When she’s not behind the chair, you can usually find her exploring New York City with her pup Ollie, traveling, learning something new, storytelling, working on creative projects, or finding inspiration in everyday city life.
